Lone Cypress - Lands End
S C Bachus"
San Francisco

The afternoon sun was just starting its drop into the Pacific's horizon as the ocean sparkled behind this lone cypress. Wind-cowed, the tree stands on a bluff a bit north of San Francisco's Point Lobos. Offshore less than a mile distant, the submerged San Andreas fault fractures its way northwest up the coast toward the Bolinas Lagoon. Many centuries ago the Yeluma people would come here and celebrate the Fall harvest, singing "Here we are dancing, dancing, dancing on the edge of the world".
